Zoo Day, Hooray!

The title of this post is a line from one of the girls' books :). We had such a FUN time last Monday going to the zoo for family night! Nora got a Little People Zoo from her Granddad for her birthday and the girls have been enjoying playing with the animals and making their sounds. They were super excited to see all the animals up close and live! Nora was running about while Fanny comfortably watched from inside the front seat of the stroller, her favorite place to be :). Here are some of the highlights of our adventure:

Nora and I looking at the Elephants.

The girls loved the carousel ride! Fanny chose the biggest and fiercest animal to sit on, the lion. She was so upset when the ride was over because she wanted to go again.

Peeking at the Bald Eagles.

Peeking in the hole in the log.

The Hogle Zoo has a new Rocky Sores exhibit that we really enjoyed. The girls LOVED the polar bear. He would swim under water and come right up to the glass, then swim back on his back. He did it over and over again. It was so funny. The girls didn't want to get too close, but really got a kick out of him doing this.

Nora checking out the polar bear.

Fanny stretching out like a giraffe.

Nora was so cute squatting down to look at the animals.

The orangutans were hilarious. This one was super cute coming up to where Fanny was and resting his head in his hands :).

This is hard to see, but this one covered himself in a sheet and walked around. We said he was dressing up like a ghost for Halloween and just wanted to try on his costume :).

One last look at the elephants before we left.

We had such a great time enjoying the zoo together as a family. Going to the zoo in the late afternoon/early evening is the best time to go. There were hardly any other people there and it wasn't hot at all. It is starting to feel like Fall. Yay!!!
