Oquirrh Mountain Temple

This past Friday we had the wonderful opportunity of attending the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. This temple is located in South Jordan, Utah, just a 45 minute drive from Grantsville. Latter Day Saint temples are sacred buildings (separate from regular Sunday meeting houses called chapels) used for special ordinances. Before a temple is dedicated it is open to the public for tours. For some basic information about temples, click here to watch a YouTube video. We had such a wonderful experience there. Joseph's family was with us for the 4th of July weekend and were able to come with us to the open house. Wow! What a beautiful, special, sacred building! It was so wonderful getting to walk through it with family. It felt so peaceful and calming to be inside and even just to be on the temple grounds. I'm so glad we got to go!
