Easter 2011

We had a very nice Easter this year. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and am so grateful for the life he gave and for his glorious resurrection. We really want our children to understand the true meaning of why we celebrate Easter, so we did our best to teach Fanny this year about Jesus and the events that took place during his last week leading up to his resurrection.

Lessons aside, we also did some of the very fun traditional Easter stuff, too!! Here are the Easter eggs we dyed. Fanny LOVED dying the eggs. She couldn't stop playing with them when they were all dry. I looked online for some cool ways to dye eggs this year and got some great ideas, then I went to Wal-Mart to pick up some supplies. Come to find out, Wal-Mart already had some really neat, inexpensive egg dying kits!! So, I decided to get those instead of the supplies I needed and what you see below are the results. Glitter eggs and metallic eggs! Cool huh??!!!
We did our traditional Easter egg hunt with Fanny (video at the end of this post). She very much enjoyed the chocolate she found in her plastic eggs!!
I could NOT, for the life of me, get this little girl to smile for the camera. I chased her around trying to get ONE good shot of her in her Easter dress. All she wanted was to take off her dress so she could go outside to play with the sidewalk chalk she got in her Easter basket.
"Can I PLEASE get out of this dress, Mommy?"
Giving me the evil eye because I kept trying to take pictures of her. At least you can see how pretty she looked in her beautiful Easter dress, even though I never got a smile.
Nora was ALL smiles for the camera. This girl is so dang happy!
Here she is leaning on her arm. She keeps trying to sit up from this position. She has also been scooting herself forward a little bit. Not quite enough to consider it an official army crawl, though, but pretty close!!
Love those smiles!!!
"Are you going to eat that piece of candy, or can I have it??!!!"
I had already put stuff in Fanny's Easter basket, so she had to collect eggs with her Halloween pumpkin, hehe.
