24th of July (Pioneer Day)

Joseph got to participate in the Grantsville 2nd Annual Pioneer Day Pageant again this year. To see last year's pageant post, go HERE. This year, instead of playing Willard Richards, Joseph was John Taylor, his costume was exactly the same as last year's, though. He also played the violin again for some of the numbers that took place when the pioneers crossed the plains. Fanny and I had a great time watching the pageant together. She was so cute, she kept repeating lines that the performers would say and kept looking up at the speakers instead of the staging area wondering where the voices were coming from. I was so glad and grateful that she sat through the hour and a half production wonderfully.

There were carnival activities going on for the children and a dinner right before the pageant to get the community together to enjoy the holiday. Joseph's band was asked to do a few numbers for a little pre-performance entertainment. They put together some from their acoustic set. I've included a video that I took of one of the numbers they came up with for the occasion. Sorry, it is a little shaky.

Reminds me of doing the pageant in SV with Joseph. They stopped doing it a few years ago, but our voices played the same part for years! Good times!
