Hi everyone who cares about what is going on in our lives. Sorry I've been neglecting the blog, we've been BUSY!!! There is always SOOO much to do in the month of December, but it is all great fun and very meaningful. The picture above was taken a couple days ago at Joseph's work party. It was a blast and the food was REALLY good! They had the party at Noah's this year. Besides the Pro-Gen party, we've been to a couple other parties, decorated cookies, done a lot of shopping, and even went to Idaho for a short weekend (left Friday evening, came back Saturday evening), amongst a few other things. We STILL have to make fudge and deliver it to some families, wrap presents, send out some Christmas cards to a few more family members, The Messiah to attend (Joseph is the Tenor soloist again this year), go caroling with the youth in our church, Sarah's wedding, and even a little more shopping to do. The important thing is that we are still sane and having a GREAT time doing all of these things. We just wanted to wish all of you Happy Holidays! The pictures below are by request from a few of you. The tree is pretty much the same as last year's, though. I think the first picture is almost exactly like the one I posted last year. I also included a couple pictures of our nativities. I love nativities! Our Hanukkah decorations are the EXACT same as last year, so you can refer to last year's post if you want to see. By the way, Happy Hanukkah all!! Friday night is the last night of the holiday and we are going to make latkes, light ALL the Hanukiah (Hanukkah menorah) candles, maybe make some doughnuts if I feel up to it, and maybe play a game of dreidel. Latkes are grated potatoes mixed with eggs, shaped into pancakes and fried in oil. On Hanukkah the foods that are eaten are typically made with oil because it is the celebration of the miracle that the oil for the menorah in the temple lasted 8 days when there was only enough oil for one day when the temple was rededicated during the 2nd century B.C.E.
Anyway, that is our December. We will spend the week of Christmas with Joseph's family in Wyoming and we can't wait!!!
Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL time this holiday season!
Here is a little treat for all of you. We thought it was pretty cute. Fanny is saying SOOO many words now. She learns new words every single day. Wish I could capture more moments like this for all of you. Anyway...enjoy!
