Handel's Messiah 2009

Yesterday Joseph sang in the 25th annual performance of George Fredrick Handel's Messiah presented by the Tooele Regional Chorus and Orchestra. He was the Tenor Soloist again this year and did an OUTSTANDING job!!! I just love the Messiah! It is such an AMAZING performance. It is becoming a wonderful tradition to see it every Christmas season and for Joseph to participate in it. Already I can't wait for next year's performance.

Here is a video of one of my favorite Chorus numbers, For Unto Us a Child is Born. I tried and tried to upload Joseph's solos, but for some reason was unable to. See last year's post to watch them. He sang the same numbers this year, too.

My Mom's favorite chorus is "All We Like Sheep" because she likes sheep. It took until I was a teenager to understand that the song was about us going astray and getting lost, rather then us all singing about our love of sheep. I love the Messiah.

I love the Messiah as well. We went to the Forgotten Carols this year, and one of my favorite parts is when Handel's Messiah is played. I'm glad you have this great tradition to look forward to every year!
