My Miss Fanny Elena turned 8 years old last week! I can't believe how fast the past eight years have flown by. I don't know exactly what it is, but she all of a sudden seems older to me :). She is such a little beauty and always tries so hard to make good choices. Fanny is so quick to say she is sorry and is the most honest child that I know. When she tells me something, I know it is the truth. Fanny loves books! She loves to read! She reads ALL day long! When she is reading she is in a zone and there is no interrupting her. We literally have to take a book away from her to get her attention. Fanny can get kind of sassy when we ask her to do something while she is reading. She also reads at night with a flashlight before she goes to bed. This girl has an incredible memory, too! She is a very auditory learner and can pretty much recall anything that she has heard. She loves being outside (and reading outside). She is still very fascinated with science and enjoys learning about the human body. This year we learned about Ancient Egypt and mummification. She can tell you the whole process as if she has performed it herself :). My Fanny girl is pretty mild tempered for the most part. I love her sincere smiles. She just naturally bring warmth and peace to those around her and tends to melt the hearts of those she meets. She is just such a sweetheart!
This year Fanny was VERY set on having a spa themed birthday party. I kind of went a little crazy with the theme, but this was such a significant year. We are not doing a friend party next year, that's for sure ;). We sure had a lot of fun, though, and Fanny's excitement was worth all of it!!
The invitation:
The cake and cupcakes (had so much fun with these):
The towels and flipflops ended up being my favorites.
The decorations (had to have fresh flowers to go along with the spa theme):
These actually didn't take as long as I thought. Super easy and cheap to make!
The treats:
Nail polish marshmallows rolled in sanding sugar and tootsie rolls on top :).
Yogurt/Pudding Parfaits
My gorgeous girl humoring me while taking some pictures of her :).
The activities:
Foot soaks with water beads and lavender oil.
Not so great homemade face masks, haha, and cucumber slices on their eyes.
Manicures done by the lovely and talented Abby and her friend, Eden! This was the only picture I got. The girls were all so excited for this part! Sure appreciated Abby and Eden's help!! Through all of the activities I played relaxing spa music! The girls all had a lot of fun!
Love my sweetheart so much!! Mazal Tov my amazing girl!
