Fourth of July Weekend (and a whole lot more)

This post is going to be way overloaded with pictures, but we have had a lot going on and I have had very little time to blog about it. So, you get it all at once. Our Independence Day was a lot of fun. Alicia and I did a little lesson with the kids on why we celebrate the Fourth of July. We had a really fun lunch to go along with it which included a fruit flag, blue and red noodles, and an awesome red, white, and blue drink!!

The Afton parade. The kids weren't too excited for me to take pictures because they were anxious for the parade to start so they could catch candy!!

Anthon LOVES the farm! He loves being outdoors and is NOT afraid of anything. This is new for us since the girls were scared of pretty much everything at his age. They are better now. But, look at this kid. He gets right up to the animals. If we are inside and the door gets open by someone coming in or out, he books it to the door in hopes to escape and explore the outdoors.

This was so funny. He made a friend!! The calf kept trying to suck his hand.

Still the Fourth. We went to a rodeo. Kids had fun for a while. They got pretty board midway and were ready to go home. It's hard to sit through 3+ hours of anything at their age :-). We made them endure, he he. Fanny's expression is so funny. I told her to open her eyes, so I got fake smile and wide eyes in one shot.

Anthon was having a blast. At the end of the rodeo there were fireworks. Nana and Papa took the girls home before they started (they are still scared of them). Joseph and I stayed with Anthon. He was so enthralled by them. Seriously, this kid is not scared of anything!! It was nice to enjoy the show without screaming, ha ha!

We took a beautiful hike up to Intermittent Spring (just a half hour drive from where we live). It was such a nice day! We had a great time and the kids really enjoyed it.

This past week we went swimming and had a picnic lunch at the Star Valley Ranch. Really nice day and all three kids did great in the pool. Yay!! Just took a few pictures of the girls before I got in with Anthon.

Doing chores on the farm. Some of these pictures were taken back in the Spring when we first got here.

Nora sometimes likes to get in her dress ups to do chores, ha ha :-).

Fanny's favorite thing to do at chore time is ride on the back of the four-wheeler when Joseph drives around to feed the fodder (sprouts) to the animals.

Four-wheeler ride up Dry Creek Canyon just 20 minutes from where we live. Can I just say that I LOVE Star Valley!! It is just so beautiful and peaceful here. So excited to call it home now :-).

It has been ages since I've been on blogger. Fun to catch up. We were up in Afton at the parade and at the spring as well! Funny we didn't bump into each other. I'm so jealous you guys live there now! You're living the dream!
