Lincoln County Fair 2014

I'm a little behind in posting. Just wanted to share some pictures from a couple weeks ago. The county fair has always been a big deal here in Star Valley, Wyoming. It is one whole week of FUN!!! We have always visited during fair week in the past, but now we live here and it is even better! We participated in the Lincoln County Fair Parade, saw the animals, went to the rodeo, the kids enjoyed the rides, and we all enjoyed walking around the fair grounds seeing the different vendors, shows and eating fair food!! Here are some of the highlight in pictures:

Fanny and Nora loved the rides. We bought them both an unlimited rides pass for one whole day. It was so fun to watch them giggle and smile as they got to go on ride after ride.

Kind of blurry, but look at that cute grin with his new cowboy hat on!

She was not sure what to think of a tall clown lady in stilts, ha ha!!

She was also not sure how she felt about coming down that slide a lot faster than she anticipated, but I think she enjoyed it :-).

Nora loved it so much she went down three times!

They had a really fun area in the middle of the grounds with all kinds of fun activities for the kiddos to do.

Love how happy he was to hand me straw. Oh the simple things.

Getting sleepy.

This actually took place the Saturday before fair week. We participated in the fair parade to promote Shumway Farms. Click here to see the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/shumwayfarms and here to see the website: http://www.shumwayfarms.com/. The awesome part is, our entry won the contest for the commercial entry in the parade!! Joseph's mom put together the awesome costumes for the kids and Joseph designed the T-shirts for the adults. The theme of the fair this year was, "From Pioneer Ways to Modern Days." We brought in the theme by having RaNell dress as a pioneer pulling a handcart with an old milk can and hay, and Jody driving the four-wheeler pulling fodder (sprouts). We had sings that said, "Sprout Fed Beef" and "Raw Milk Shares" on them. The kids were all cows, except for Nora, who was an adorable little piglet holding a sign that said, "Coming soon! Sprout fed pork." I included a couple of the T-shirt designs in the photos below. We handed out popsicles and some coupons for free ground beef. It was a ton of fun!! We are super glad to be around to help out on the farm and be a part of this growing family business.

Can't wait for fair week next year!!!
