Labor Day Weekend in Wyoming

We went to Wyoming over Labor Day weekend to spend some time with Joseph's family. We did so many fun things in the three days we were there. It was great! It was also so wonderful to spend time with the family. We were sad Joseph's sister, Alicia, and her children couldn't be there. We missed them.

A couple of Joseph's siblings recently got some horses that happened to be saddled up right when we got there on Saturday. So, Joseph and I went on a little horseback ride in the field. Fanny just got on the horse for the picture, then she got to spend some time with her Nana while we were gone. Joseph actually went out on a ride every day while we were in Wyoming. The couple times he went riding without me he really enjoyed galloping. Now he really wants a horse!!
This is BEAUTIFUL Cottonwood Lake! Saturday evening we went up to Cottonwood for a fun family activity. We went out on the lake in a row boat right before it got dark. It was SOOO peaceful. It was such a gorgeous night and such a beautiful spot! After being out on the lake we made a campfire and roasted marshmallows and Starbursts (YUMMY!) and had Smores.
Can you tell Fanny really likes her gram cracker?!
This was the red-neck beach that we went to on Monday. I call it red-neck because it had receded quite a bit and instead of sand, there was a whole lot of MUD! It was a beautiful location at Palisades Reservoir, though, and Fanny didn't mind the mud one bit. You can see from the pictures that she was having a BLAST! She even put a couple handfuls of dirt in her mouth before realizing how un-tasty it was. Man, Fanny was one dirty girl at the end of the day.
The Squat. Do all kids squat down like this? I think it is the cutest thing ever how her little bum never touches the ground. She can squat for the longest time while playing and exploring. I don't know why, maybe it is because I can't do that, but I just LOVE it!
Can you tell how much she is LOVING the water?!
While everyone else was out on the boat, Joseph and his three brothers had the brilliant idea to bury Jaden in the mud. I took pictures of the whole process, even the escape =). It was pretty funny!
What a good sport!
GORGEOUS sunset Monday night on the farm. WOW!!! It was so beautiful!

And yes, I think all kids do squat like that. They must have killer thigh muscles!

The pictures of the lake and the sunset are gorgeous! I've never really wanted to go to Wyoming, but you've totally changed my mind :)
