Fanny's 1st Birthday (in Wyoming)

Last week we were in Wyoming for Joseph's brother, Jonathan's, graduation. While we were there we also celebrated Fanny's 1st birthday. It also happened that Alicia, Joseph's sister, had her baby, Taysen, only 6 hours after picking up her husband, Tyler, from the airport in Jackson. He had been serving in the Air Force in Korea for the past 8 months and came home after a LONG flight from overseas to have his brand new baby boy come that very night. Crazy, but exciting! Needless to say, it was a VERY busy week, but we had such a great time!

Here is the week in pictures. I'll start with Fanny's birthday party. I tried to go with a Spring-type theme. Check out the AWESOME cake I made her. It is a caterpillar. I got the idea online and just had to try it. It took a LONG time to make, but I was so excited with how it turned out. For my first time making a birthday cake, I think I did pretty good!Fanny got spoiled with some great gifts on her birthday. Thank you so much to everyone!

She just LOVES her Cheerio holder!

"Wait! Stop! We have to save the bows!!"

OK, now for some fun videos. The first one is of something Fanny started doing all of a sudden when we would clap. It is SOOO funny!! She kind of spazzes out. She gets really serious and moves her hands by cupping and un-cupping them really fast. It is kind of hard to explain, so just watch it in the video. Her face is hilarious when she does it!
We got the tip from our friends Mario and Ariela to give a baby a box of tissues all to themselves on their first birthday. We weren't sure what Fanny would do with it, but after seeing how much fun she was having, or maybe it was frustration that the tissues kept coming out, we decided this would be a great tradition to continue.

Here are some pictures of Fanny on the Shumway farm looking at the calves. She didn't mind them too much until we tried to get her to pet one. She just wasn't quite sure about them. They were pretty cute, though.

Here is baby Taysen. He was 5 pounds, 11 ounces when he was born. Isn't he so adorable?!

Can you believe how big Fanny looks next to Taysen?! It was so weird. All of a sudden she isn't that small anymore.

And, the "main" reason we were in Wyoming, Jonathan's graduation. Since he was the Senior Class President he got to conduct the graduation ceremony. He did such a great job! We are really proud of him! Mazal Tov Jon!!
