Happy 6th Birthday Sweet Fanny!!!!!
I can't believe this girl is SIX!!! She has been wanting a Disney Frozen birthday party ever since we saw the movie last year. The girls both LOVE Frozen! No joking, they are obsessed. OK, truth be told, I'm a little obsessed myself. It is just so cute!!
So... here is the cake I made for Fanny. I'm pretty proud of how this one turned out. I think it is my favorite one yet. It took forever, but the outcome and Fanny's excitement over it were well worth it.
Here are some close up details.
The decorations were snowflakes and snowballs per Fanny's request. Turned out pretty cute, huh?! I cut out some snowflakes using patterns I found online and free-handing the others. They were really intricate, but turned out so pretty. My wonderful mother-in-law put together the cotton-ball snowballs.
She is such a pretty little thing. We had a lot of fun playing pin the nose on Olaf.
Silly cousins. I made "Elsa" crowns for the girls and "Sven" reindeer antlers for Tayson.
We also played Frozen Bingo.
I put together a Frozen scavenger hunt that I found online for the kids. The clues were all lyrics from the movie, like, "The window is open so's that ____." Then they had to go to a door to find the next clue. At the end they found their gift bags which had a marshmallow snowman for them to build, as well as candy and Frozen coloring pages and activities for them to do. Fun, fun!! The kids enjoyed it. And, this little girl was overjoyed!! Man I just love her!!
I have to share this adorable video with you of the girls acting out a scene from Frozen. Fanny is playing Anna and Nora is Elsa. Too cute, seriously.
Fanny has grown up so much in this past year. She has really enjoyed kindergarten at home. I would say that this girl's favorite thing to do is read. Hmm, wonder where she gets it from? She reads all day long. In fact, the second present she opened was a book. She immediately jumped down with it and started heading off to read it. We had to stop her and encourage her to open her other gifts first :-). I would say that she is at a 2nd grade reading level. She loves the human body, learning about the different continents and countries around the world, the solar system, and making up stories about her dolls and stuffed animals. Since we have lived here in Star Valley her favorite thing to do on the farm is ride on the back of the four-wheeler with Joseph to go feed the animals at chore time. Fanny is my sweet as can be, mild-tempered girl. I adore and love her with all my heart. It was so fun to see her excitement to celebrate her birthday. Oh to be six!! That reminds me, I forgot to add these last two pictures. We went on a field trip to the zoo in Idaho Falls a few days ago and look at this awesome sign we found!! I had to take a picture of Fanny next to it (even though she was not wanting her picture taken). Awesome!
