BOY!!!!!
Needless to say, we are all pretty excited about this little guy joining our family. Fanny had her heart set on a baby girl. We told her that she already has a little sister, Nora, and that now she gets a baby brother. She decided that was alright and declared that he can wear Spider Man and Toy Story clothes. Funny girl! I have no doubt that our boy will experience being dressed up like a princess now and then and be invited to tea parties by his two very girly older sisters :-).
We actually had a little moment where we were pretty sure I was pregnant with twins! My midwife was measuring me about 3 weeks ahead of what I had figured I was, AND she found TWO heartbeats! We immediately scheduled and ultrasound to confirm. Nope, just one baby in there. I guess he just had a growth spurt and his heartbeat was strong and changed quickly. I'm trilled to be having a boy. This is all new territory for me since I grew up with just sisters and have only experienced having girls. It might explain why I felt a lot sicker in my first trimester, which was a lot different from what I felt with the girls. All that testosterone I guess, hehe. Although I only threw up once, I felt so nauseated and yucky for quite a while. I'm glad to say that is past now. I've just been pretty tired lately, but otherwise have been feeling great! The baby is doing great, too! Our awesome ultrasound tech, Phillip (who we have had for both of the girls), said that he was able to check everything on his list and it all looks perfect! The only bummer is, we weren't able to get a good profile shot. This little one just didn't want to turn his head. We have decided that his first name will most likely be Anthon, after an ancestor on Joseph's side. Joseph's middle name was actually supposed to be Anthon, but he ended up with the initial B, which stands for Bartt, his uncle, who came out of the hospital on the day Joseph was born. Bartt had been there for a year from a terrible car accident. Joseph has always wanted to name one of his sons Anthon, since he never got the name but really likes it. I love it, too!
I'm about 20 weeks along, so just about 20 more weeks to go. Halfway!! The estimated due date is July 4th! Since Fanny was "early" and Nora was "late" I have no idea what to expect from Anthon. And, we are doing a home birth again! We are all just super excited for him to be part of our family! Here are a couple more pictures from the ultrasound and a little video as well. I've GOT to get some belly shots soon...
Yeah, it was pretty obvious :).
We did get a real brief profile of Anthon right at the end of the video!

yes, that is definitely a boy! Congratulations! Boys are dear little men. I'm happy for you guys!
That is so exciting! I am so happy for your family. It was so fun getting to experience our bows and frills after having a boy, so I'm sure you will love the cars, legos, and superheros! Love the name Anthon, that is my brother's name! Be warned... SO many people will call him Anton. It is my brother's pet peeve.
Wonderful Arit! Anthon is lucky to be coming to such an incredible family! His sisters will watch over him for his whole life.
