It is called: French Macarons.
I LOVE them! I love planning what kinds I'm going to make. I love making them and knowing that I am in the process of creating something gourmet, something very decadent. I love watching them in the oven and seeing the "feet" appear on the bottom and the tops remaining flawlessly smooth. I really love taking a bite into these crunchy, chewy, soft, sweet, flavorful morsels. Oh, and I enjoy taking pictures of them, too. Yeah, so pretty much, I'm obsessed!
Here is my favorite kind so far. Cinnamon with vanilla butter-cream frosting.
I enjoy seeing them after I've piped them on the parchment paper. When they hold their shape like this, you know you have mixed the batter just right.
Yum!
I also made a lemon French macaron with lemon butter-cream frosting.
For St. Patrick's Day, I made coconut with white chocolate coconut ganache, lime with white chocolate coconut ganache, and mint with chocolate ganache.
I put them in little baggies for Joseph to give to his coworkers.
Maybe I should start a business making French macarons?? I'm already thinking about what holidays and occasions are coming up next and what new flavors I could try. Fanny loves them, too. She gets so excited on the days I make French macarons. Nora, not so much. She will eat vegetables over sweets any day. Give her zucchini, and she is in heaven.
So, it is a bad thing to be obsessed with French macarons? If I don't eat too many and give most of them away, is it OK? I hope so, because I sure enjoy them!

okay, you've got me very curious about these french macarons. I've never tried them, but now feel I must. I don't know when I'll get to it, but I will let you know how it goes. It does look like the perfect fun treat to give away to friends.
