We had a very busy, but very fun Independence Day this year. We started off the weekend in Wyoming for Joseph's Dad's 50th birthday party!! Sorry, I didn't take any pictures while we were there. We had a great time with family and friends, though. We came back Sunday night to be in Grantsville for the Fourth on Monday. Grantsville really goes all out with an awesome parade, car show, TONS of great activities, food and entertainment in the park, and one of the most amazing fireworks show around! For the past two years Joseph did the 5K run they do here, but opted out this year since we had so much going on already. He usually runs about a 5K every other day anyway =).
The parade was GREAT! Fanny wasn't so sure, though. She didn't like the loud noises from the police cars and firetrucks. She also didn't like when people would squirt water from the floats. Needless to say, she was crying most of the time. We were able to pacify her a little when the "princesses" would come by, or when someone threw her some candy she liked. She also liked the bands.
Nora slept through the first half.
But, once she woke up she was all smiles and thoroughly enjoyed herself.
Just some of the highlights of the parade:
Awesome float!
This was too funny. I don't even know that lady, but when we were looking through our pictures, Joseph and I busted up laughing when we saw this one. When Fanny was crying, this lady was super nice and gave her some of the candy she was catching for her kids. The picture was too classic to not post.
After the parade we went home for a quick lunch, then it was off to the park to watch Jospeh's band, Kindle Creek, perform. They did a great job, as usual. This was their first outdoor venue of the season. Sure enjoyed their set!!
Fanny was really enjoying herself at the concert, but fell asleep in the middle of the performance. The girls switched off, Nora was taking a nap, then woke up right before Fanny went to sleep. She was just dancing away to the music!!
