Tooth & Talent

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. The past couple of weeks have been pretty ROUGH, but exciting! Fanny got her first tooth! Along with her first tooth, she also got a really bad cold, which has been hard on all of us. We've just been a little sleep deprived is all. Twice we ended up letting her sleep with us in our bed. Wow! She moves A LOT in her sleep. Once we thought she woke up because she sat straight up, but she just fell right back down and went back to sleep. A couple times while Fanny was sick she started coughing and crying because she didn't understand why she was hurting, and I started crying too. It broke my heart to see her suffering. Fanny has been feeling MUCH better today, though, and is back to her smiling self. When her tooth comes up a little bit more, I'll have to take a picture of her, so you can all see it! It has taken so long for her to get a tooth that we really didn't think it would happen until after she turned one. How many more teeth do we have to go now?? I hope they get easier!

OK, so now for the "Talent" portion of this post. The other night our church congregation had a talent show. It was a lot of fun to see and participate in! Of course, Joseph played his violin. He was thinking about playing one of his compositions on the piano, but decided that a couple fiddle pieces would be more unique. He also considered singing. Man, I have such a talented husband! It is always so fun being able to hear him practice for these kinds of things. I could listen to him sing and play ALL day!! The video I took of him is a little shaky because I was holding Fanny while filming (we were dancing a little bit). The sound quality isn't the greatest either, but Joseph's fiddling still sounds pretty good! He played an Irish tune called "The Butterfly" and another piece called "Orange Blossom Special."

For my talent... Most of you know that I LOVE acting, but you can't really do a monologue for a talent show. That would be a little embarrassing. So, I displayed my "talent." OK, so it is not a talent so much as it is a hobby. They had display tables, though, so I thought it would be fun to display some of the photographs I have taken. I really enjoy taking pictures, but I don't actually know a lot about photography. For me, sometimes it is just about catching a certain image in a frame. Anyway, here are some of the pictures I displayed. There were also a couple of Fanny that I displayed which I already shared with you in a previous post. Don't be too critical. I am NOT a professional, just a mere hobbyist.

My first three kids all got their teeth on or after their first birthday. But number four is working on his third and fourth teeth right now. And each child has had different reactions when their teeth come in, some good and some not so good. You could try a couple of great calcium supplements called Kid-e-Calc and Kid-e-Col by the Dr. Christopher company. You can get them at health food stores. Hang in there and enjoy the moments because they never last long enough.

Beautiful pictures.
Teeth are funny, Jared has 8 and I think he is working on a couple more, his first came in with absolutely no problems, in fact we wouldn't have even noticed it if he hadn't have drooled about a quart of drool in 5 minutes. The 2-4th were his worst, but baby orajel worked amazingly well. Also, Those teeth are too cute (until they try to take a bite out of you)

It's nice to have contact with you again! Congrats on a beautiful baby girl! She is sincerely adorable. Where are you living? And how long have you been married? When I think of Arit, I think of riding in the big van from seminary to Mitchell. Ahh... good times.
