So, I know I promised more pictures of Anthon and his birth story, but first I must devote a post to my sweet Fanny who turned five at the end of May. Can you believe it??!! FIVE!!!!!
Fanny LOVES Strawberry Shortcake and was set on a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party for quite some time. When we asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she said a Strawberry Shortcake bike. Joseph and I were both like, "Uh, um, okay, we'll see, but there may not be a Strawberry Shortcake bike, so don't get your hopes up." We walked into Toys R Us one night and there it was! A Strawberry Shortcake bike!! She was so excited on the morning of her birthday to get exactly what she was hoping for.
We were in Wyoming on Fanny's actual birthday. We had a small party there with just the family. I was pretty sick at the time, so my wonderful mother-in-law helped make the cake, using my delicious recipe of course :). She made cheesecake frosting and decorated it with a big strawberry on top. Fanny loved it! I sure love this girl! She has such strong desires to do what is right. She is such a smart little princess, too. She doesn't miss a thing and has an incredible memory. I love that she still does the spaz thing with her hands when she gets excited or happy about something, moving her fingers back and forth super fast. I hope she never stops doing that, it is such a "Fanny" thing. She is in a phase where she asks a million questions about everything. It's awesome! I love hearing the things she is curious to know about and love answering her and helping her learn more about the world around her. What an amazing spirit she has and what a joy she is to our family!
Not quite a week after Fanny's birthday we had the Strawberry Shortcake birthday party for her and invited some of her friends. This was my very first party!! I made these cute invitations.
I also made these fun tissue paper baker hats for the girls to decorate and wear while they made their very own strawberry shortcakes.
Again, my amazing mother-in-law helped me out and made these adorable aprons for all the girls to wear with their hats.
One of Fanny's friends made this strawberry shortcake creation. I thought it was pretty dang good!
These were the favor boxes. I got the pattern online. So cute, huh?!
I still can't believe she is five!
Making their own strawberry shortcakes. My friend, Heather, was my life saver. She helped me out so much during the party because I was still pretty sick. THANK YOU, Heather!!! It is a long story, but I was pretty much on bed rest because I was so tired, sick, and weak. I'll explain when I tell Anthon's birth story. I'm doing much better now. Still not one hundred percent, but so much better. I REALLY wanted to make a cake for Fanny's birthday, but just didn't have it in me, so the shortcakes the girls made had to suffice. Maybe sometime this summer I'll make a fondant Strawberry Shortcake cake just for fun. During the party we played pin the strawberry in the basket and find the strawberries in the berry patch. I think everyone had a good time.
Happy Birthday Beautiful Fanny!!!!! I can't even express in words how much I love this little girl!!!
One of her latest. I love that Fanny still lines things up. She really enjoys setting things up and creating little scenes with her dolls and toys. It is super cute. Her and Nora are the best of friends. They play together all the time, sing songs, read books, act out scenes, and quote books and movies together, etc. I love that their relationship is so strong. They may pester each other now and then, but they always end up making up and truly desire to see the other one happy :). It is very helpful to have them so close now that Anthon is here. They keep each other entertained when my attention needs to be on the baby :).

Looks like the strawberry shortcake party was a success. Congrats on the birth of your new little guy too.
