Family Cruise on the Fun Ship Carnival Fascination

We went on a cruise!!! It was our little family of four, my sister Peerli with her husband Brent and their daughter Brylan, and my sister Avriel and her fiancee Jay. We had such a wonderful time. It was challenging at times with the kids, but it was so worth it to take them along! They loved being on the BIG boat. It was so wonderful for me to spend time with my sisters. I hate that we all live so far away from each other. Anyway, here are pictures of our trip. We left the day after Thanksgiving to fly to Jacksonville, Florida. It was a five day cruise from there with one stop in Key West and one stop in Nassau, Bahamas! Warning, there are A LOT of pictures, some are blurry and not the best quality, but I had to include them to preserve the memories :).

The girls looking out our state room window at the water as we were leaving the port in Jacksonville.

My handsome husband relaxing on deck while the girls were enjoying some fun at Camp Carnival. Great program where they have all kinds of fun activities for the little ones to do.

Ha ha! I was trying to get a picture of Joseph and I together, but he was being silly. I cut myself out because I looked funny in this picture.

Joseph just took one of me by myself.

She was pretty tired!

Love this picture of Avriel and Jay on Elegant Night.

Dancing with our girls!

OK, so I have to explain this one. We have a picture from long ago when we were living in Creede, Colorado. Us girls were standing by a man with a buffalo and Peerli had this hilariously funny look on her face. We were laughing about the photo and just had to be silly and take a picture of all of us trying to make the "buffalo picture face." It was hard because we were all laughing so much!

Posing "cruise style."

The girls LOVED the animal towel figures that were in our room every night, and the chocolates!!

Nora in the morning :).

Key West!!! We decided for our excursion in Key West to take a tour of the town on the World Famous Conch Train. It was a lot of fun for the girls and Joseph and I got to learn some neat things about the history of the area. Nora actually fell asleep towards the end of it, though :).

Neat homes and trees in Key West.

The starting point of Highway 1.

The Southernmost point of continental U.S.A.

Key West Christmas Tree!

Just some of the sights. Joseph and I would have loved to go into the Hemingway House and the Shipwreck Museum, but opted not to because of time and because we thought it wouldn't be as easy or fun with the girls.

We did go to the Key West Toy Factory where they gave the girls a free token to ride a small carousel. The girls had fun on that. A lady had to tell us after a while that we have to manually stop the carousel or it would keep going. We were just standing there watching the girls go around and around and around thinking that it would eventually stop on its own :).

We HAD to have Key Lime Pie in Key West. Fanny and Nora tried a slice of key lime pie dipped in chocolate, mmmmmm!!!!!

On the trolley heading back to the cruise ship.

Leaving Key West.

The Bahamas!!!!! Although we could have avoided some excessive walking at the Atlantis Resort, we had a GREAT time there!

Fanny was not being very cooperative for this picture. Silly girl.

We all loved the aquariums! They were so cool and the girls had such a blast seeing all the fish!

My favorites! I love watching Jellyfish.

Here is a video of the girls at the aquariums. We realized later that the BIG fish we were calling a sting ray was actually a manta ray. Oops!

The beach! It was a pretty overcast day, but the temperature wasn't too bad and girls really enjoyed playing in the sand.

Fanny getting her feet buried by Daddy and Nora.

Making hand prints in the sand with Mommy.

Looking at the birds flying above us.

The Atlantis!

Chocolate buffet. Can you say YUM! The girls really enjoyed it.

I couldn't get a good enough picture of her, but Fanny looked like she had missing teeth after eating some chocolate goodies. It was so funny!

Also not a very good picture, but the girls just loved riding up and down the glass elevator in the middle of the ship. It was super cute.

Enjoying the hot tub!

Tea Time! This was so much fun to go to with my sisters! Wish we could do it more often. I miss them so much already! (One, two, threeeeeeeeeeeeeee!)

Last towel animal. Sting Ray or Seal??

These last pictures and video of the girls are so cute. It was super windy on the top of the boat. One thing that was really funny during our trip was that EVERYONE kept asking if the girls were twins. We've had that before, but it just happened so much that people would ask, that we were thinking about making signs for Fanny and Nora stating their ages. They are just so close in height and their hair color is so similar. We would just laugh when people would ask and tell them that the girls are actually over two years apart.

Oh, that was so fun! Now I just need to figure out how to make a bed that simulates cruise ship movement. I don't know what it is about being on a cruise, the ever so slight rocking maybe, but I slept SO good at night! So glad we got to go and be with family. What a wonderful way to start off the holiday season and what great memories we made with the girls!
