Happy Birthday Joseph!!!!!

I just LOVE my sweetheart SOOO much! Joseph's birthday was on Friday!!! He took the day off, so we all got to spend some time together, which was GREAT!! That night I made Joseph a really nice bacon wrapped Fillet Mignon birthday dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed carrots (from our garden) with a butter and brown sugar glaze. Mmmmm!! It all turned out sooooo good! Then, on Friday evening we had a NO Rules Pinewood Derby at our church that Joseph was in charge of (he is Elders Quorum president in our ward). That was a ton of fun! Joseph drilled some holes in the sides and down the back of his car then dropped weights down the holes. He also strapped weights on top of his car and wrapped duct tape around it and then sprayed it black. It was pretty tacky, but it was a slick last minute job =). Unfortunately, because the wheels didn't rotate very well, it didn't win =(. It was still a blast to see all the different cars there and be a part of such a fun activity. One guy in our ward (congregation), made his car with CO2 cartridges. He won his first race, but in his second race his car flew right off the track! It was hilarious!! Fanny had a blast watching all the races. She kept trying to crawl onto the track =). The video below is of Joseph's first race. You will see him on the microphone in the background calling up the next cars to be raced. Since we had the activity on Friday night, Saturday we left Fanny with a babysitter and went out for dinner and did some shopping to celebrate Joseph's birthday together. It was great to take time for just the two of us!

Sounds like so much fun! I'll have to let my elder's quorum in on this idea :)
