6 Random Things Tag

OK, so normally I don't do these tags that have you write things about yourself, but I was singled out as one of six to do this. So, Laura, this post is for you =). I guess a lot of you just really want to hear more about me. Don't worry, though, there will be many more posts of Fanny to come.

1- Post the rules on your blog
2- List 6 random things about yourself
3- Tag 6 people at the end of your post
4- Let each person know they have been tagged

So, I just did rule number one, and I intend to do rule number 2, but I'm actually not going to do rule numbers 3 and 4. If anyone reads this and wants to be tagged, go ahead and write 6 random things about yourself, but I'm going to go ahead and skip tagging anyone personally.

Random Thing #1: I LOVE to read! It's one of my all time favorite things to do. It may sound like a boring hobby to some, but I find so much pleasure in it. Right now I am reading a book called Shadow Divers. It is a non-fiction about two deep sea divers who found a U-boat off the coast of New Jersey and risked everything to solve its mystery. I normally don't read non-fiction books because, no matter how fascinating they are supposed to be, I just have the hardest time staying interested in them. Shadow Divers was a recommendation, though, and is promised to be very suspenseful and engaging. I'm only on page 14, so we'll see. Normally I enjoy the classics, anything by Austen, Dickens, the Bronte sisters, Shakespeare, etc. My all time favorite classic has to be The Count of Monte Cristo, unabridged, by Alexandre Dumas. I also enjoy suspense novels and historical fiction, as well as some really good Newbery Medal winners. OK, so I could go on, and on, and on about books and reading, so I'll stop here before you decide you don't want to continue reading this post.

Random Thing #2: I really enjoy traveling outside of the United States. I have been to Israel (of course, I was born there, but did go back for a visit about 4 years ago), England (twice), Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico (twice), Italy, and Hawaii (OK, so technically Hawaii is a state, but I like to count it as one of the places I have traveled to). Joseph and I really hope to take our children traveling when they are older. We have no clue how many children we want, by the way, maybe 4 or 5??

Random Thing #3: I have a pretty bad sweet tooth. It is almost impossible for me to resist something sweet, especially chocolate, when it is around. One reason why I try not to buy desserts or keep anything sweet in the house. It is kind of hard, though, when your husband just happens to be an ice cream connoisseur. My favorite dessert is halvah (a delicious Israeli, sesame seed morsel).

Random Thing #4: My all time favorite sport is Ultimate Frisbee! I used to play all the time back in college and when I was single. I'd like to think that the guys were impressed with my mad ultimate frisbee skills. I have to admit that I was pretty good...for a girl.

Random Thing #5: Not that many people know this, but I really enjoy working out. I work out at least 5 times a week (usually when Fanny is taking her first nap of the day). In the summer time I love to get outside and ride my bicycle. It will be fun when I can get an attachment for Fanny and take her riding with me this coming summer. I tried running when Joseph and I first dated because I thought it would impress him since he is a runner, but I hated it. Mostly I do a half hour video of cardio or strength training at home. After I graduated from college I bought a ping-pong table. I used to set up one half of the table and play by myself to get a work out sometimes. When I moved to St. George, though, I had to leave my table in Colorado. I really miss it!

Random Thing #6: My dreams came true when I married Joseph, the most perfect man in the whole world for me, and when I became a mother. I really am more happy than I can describe. I feel so blessed that my dreams came true and that I am the wife of such a wonderful man and the mother of such a beautiful, perfect baby girl.

I'm so glad I tagged you ;) I love hearing about the random things because I don't get to see you ever anymore. When are you coming down for a little warmth?
